Food Service Shift Manager

Job Summary of Food Service Shift Manager:

In the Food Service Shift Manager position, one is expected to provide exceptional customer service, lead by example, boost sales by skillfully arranging fresh products in the department, and assist the Food Service Shift Manager in building a productive staff through teamwork and effective training.

Responsibilities for Food Service Shift Manager:

• 1-2 years' experience in Food Service Department operations
• Must be able to resolve differences and diffuse difficult situations (customers and associates) through diplomatic means
• Must be knowledgeable in various training methods
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions, perform routine and repetitive tasks, and have constant contact/interaction with various levels of individuals on a daily basis
• Flexibility in work hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Must have excellent problem-solving skills
• Must be able to lead by example to give Food City Customers their best shopping experience
• Knowledge of Food City policies and procedures
• Expertise of all job duties associates must perform in each area of responsibility
• Ability to attend on-site work during scheduled shifts to adhere to company time and attendance policies

Qualifications for Food Service Shift Manager:

• Experience in overseeing Food Service Department functions for a duration of 1-2 years
• Being adept at resolving disparities and calming complex situations (with customers and colleagues) through diplomatic techniques is necessary
• Understanding different training approaches is important
• Proficiency in interpreting and adhering to verbal and written instructions, completing routine and repetitive tasks, and having continuous contact/communication with individuals at various levels daily
• Working hours that can be adjusted to include nights, weekends, and holidays demonstrate flexibility in scheduling
• It is crucial to possess outstanding problem-solving capabilities
• Exemplifying the desired behaviors is vital for those in leadership roles to help Food City customers have a superior shopping experience
• Being well-versed in Food City policies and procedures is a must
• Skillfulness in executing the diverse tasks associated with each area of responsibility
• Meeting company guidelines by physically attending on-site work during scheduled shifts.
