Kelly Services, in partnership with a client who has been in business over 100 years and serves a wide range of industries, is seeking a 2 nd Shift CNC Machinist . The CNC Machinist is responsible for setting up computer numeric controlled (CNC) machines to manufacture production parts according to blueprint specifications. This role involves using proper inspection equipment and machining practices. The CNC Machinist will also load parts into machines, cycle them, and detect malfunctions in operations, such as worn or damaged cutting tools. Responsibilities:
Ensure quality parts are produced consistently throughout the machining process, adhering to quality standards and written procedures.
Manage accurate parts counts and maintain data integrity by inputting the correct data into the system.
Mark and tag material on stock items and prepare necessary paperwork for routing materials.
Conduct minor repairs and maintenance of cutting tools during production.
Follow company safety policies, procedures, and practices.
Maintain a clean and orderly workspace and equipment, adhering to prescribed safety procedures.
Execute all assigned machine shop operations.
Execute additional responsibilities as required or assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum one-year experience with a 4-axis CNC controlled machine.
Ability to read and edit CNC programs in G code.
Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, micrometers, dial indicators, gauges, and vernier calipers.
Responsible for purchasing precision measuring instruments and hand tools upon completing a 90-day introductory period.
Strong communication skills and capability to work flexibly in a team environment.
Competency in following instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
High school diploma or GED and one year of related experience or a combination of education and experience is necessary.
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
